The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the online portal for the submission of applications for the UGC-NET December 2024 cycle. This exam determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for:
- Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions
- Assistant Professor positions and Ph.D. admissions
- Ph.D. admissions only
The test will cover 85 subjects and will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Below are the key dates and details:

Application Submission: November 19, 2024, to December 10, 2024 (up to 11:50 PM)
Examination Fee Submission Deadline: December 11, 2024 (up to 11:50 PM)
Correction Window for Application Form: December 12–13, 2024 (up to 11:50 PM)
Exam Dates: January 1–19, 2025
Announcement of Exam City & Admit Card: To be notified later

General/Unreserved: ₹1150 , General-EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹600, SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: ₹325

- Applications must be submitted online only through https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in/. Forms submitted through other modes will not be accepted.
- Each candidate must submit only one application form.
- Refer to the Information Bulletin available on the official website for detailed instructions.
